This month I just wanted to catch you up on what we have been up too. Myself and the other hygienists in the office have been working hard on delivering the best care for our patients. We have now been laser certified and are able to offer laser services at The Tooth Doctors. I wanted to fill you in a little on the services and how they could benefit you.
We are excited to introduce the laser into our non surgical gum therapy. Bacteria that could cause infection is often left behind and reforms within days after a hygiene visit. By using the laser we can help stop the bacteria from forming for weeks within the pockets around the teeth. More effective removal of bacteria can help improve the health of your mouth. The laser emits a gentle warmth that is absorbed by bacteria. The absorbed wavelength is converted to energy and causes breakdown of the bacteria beyond what traditional instrumentation can do. The delicate tip allows for comfortable placement of the laser around the gum tissue with little to no discomfort following treatment. The procedure takes between 5 and 8 minutes to complete and for best results the laser should be used before and after a hygiene appointment. Laser treatment does need to be used regularly for the most effective results, because bacteria is always forming. The goal of the treatment is to prolong the growth for maximum gum health. Wishing You All a Very Happy Holiday!
